JOB SUMMARY:

The CNA Hospice position is accountable for supplying personal care, help with activities of day-to-day living and organizing a cool, comfortable environment for clients in the Hospice program.

  • Supply personal and hygienic care for clients such as bathing, hair, mouth and skin care under the supervision of expert staff
  • Inspect vital signs, i.e., blood pressure, temperature, pulse and respirations
  • Establish relationship with the client and family that promotes trust and offers psychological support
  • Record observations of treatment and care offered; report any considerable modification in the clients condition or issues to the manager
  • Help patient and/or family in preserving a tidy, safe environment
  • Provide light housekeeping, linen modifications, laundry, meal preparation and friendship
  • Prepare basic meals and assist clients with consuming when needed
  • Other tasks as assigned

TASK REQUIREMENTS:

  • Utilize reliable communication skills when connecting with clients, families and co-workers
  • Standard understanding of medical terms and long lasting medical equipment (DME)
  • Willing to take a trip to other office locations and help with staffing as needed
  • Work needs understanding of the homecare industry, and Medicare regulations

WORK EXPERIENCE:

  • 6 (6) months experience as a Licensed Nursing Assistant (CNA) chosen
  • Hospice experience chosen

LICENSING/CERTIFICATION/EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent chosen
  • Current State Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license
  • Must be able to successfully finish and pass the Companys Proficiency Evaluation
  • Existing CPR Accreditation

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • Position might need unscheduled overtime, week-end work
  • Must be willing and able to work flexible hours
  • Travel required
  • Need to have reputable transportation
  • Existing State Chauffeurs License
  • Present car liability insurance coverage according to Company policy

SUPERVISORY DUTIES:

  • This position does not have supervisory duties

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Job will require regular lifting of things up to 50 pounds
  • Work is performed in a standard home health environment
