JEFFERSON CITY, Mo.– Missouri Governor Mike Parson revealed a brand-new partnership to expand the state’s hospital capacity.
Gov. Parson made the announcement Wednesday evening with Missouri Hospital Association President and CEO Herb Kuhn.
The 12- week partnership with health care services business Vizient will generate additional personnel and further expand the state’s health center capacity.
” Given that the start of COVID-19, we have constantly kept track of Missouri’s statewide healthcare system and focused on supporting our healthcare facilities and healthcare employees as much as possible,” Gov. Parson said. “Staffing continues to be one of the biggest obstacles today, and we are currently doing everything we can at the state level to assist.”
Gov. Parson said other states like Arizona have actually worked with Vizient through the pandemic.
According to a release from the guv’s workplace, Vizient will deploy as much as 760 extra employee through its contracted firms to several, geographically dispersed hospitals throughout the state, including signed up nurses, respiratory therapists, and certified nurse assistants.
