JFK Medical Center is a multi-campus medical center with four places throughout Palm Beach County. Our Main School in Atlantis is a 472- bed intense care medical and surgical facility known for our Comprehensive Provider including: 24- Hour Emergency Situation Solutions, Cardiovascular Care, Cancer Care, Breast Care, Neurosciences, Stroke Care, General, Minimally Invasive & Robotic Surgery, Orthopedic Care, Spine Care, Bariatrics, Sleep Disorders, Injury Management, Behavioral Health and Obstetrics.

Originally named John F. Kennedy Hospital in honor of our country’s 35 th president in 1966, JFK Medical Center has because turned into a multi-campus medical center with 4 Palm Beach County places.

Our main campus is a 558- bed acute care medical and surgical center understood for its extensive services including: 24- hour emergency situation services, cardiovascular care, neurosciences, general, minimally intrusive & robotic surgical treatment, orthopedic and spine care, bariatrics, behavioral health and obstetrics. JFK Main is a Joint Commission certified Main Stroke Center and an accredited Ventricular Assist Device program. We are an American College of Cardiology Chest Pain Center and an American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer recognized Comprehensive Community Cancer Program. We also provide 2 off-site ERs in Palm Beach Gardens and West Boynton Beach offering the very same first aid for grownups and kids as our medical facility based ER, closer to home.

Working under the supervision of a nursing, theCNA carries out various client care activities necessary in taking care of the personal needs and convenience of patients.The position’s tasks and duties include:

  • Bathes, dresses/undresses patients assist with individual health.
  • Serves and collects food trays. Assists with client feeding.
  • Transportations, positions and drapes patients for exams and treatments.
  • Assists patients in ambulating.
  • Takes and records important signs, weights and I & O.
  • Performs non sterile dressing changes.
  • Passes and gathers bed pans.
  • Changes bedding.
  • Provides encouragement, support and comfort to clients and family members.
  • Displays, records and communicates client condition as proper utilizing computerized documents systems.
  • Supplies age and culturally suitable care.
  • Orients and mentors brand-new team member.
  • Follows Standard Precautions using individual protective devices as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Assistance Course (BLS or BCLS) and accreditation.
  • Effective completion of a nursing assistant training program
  • State certification as a CNA
  • Previous health center experience preferred
  • Working understanding of medical terms.
  • Customer care capabilities including effective listening abilities.
  • Ability to quickly make choices to report client condition with very little supervision.
  • Ability to perform work that needs regular standing, bending, reaching, crouching, kneeling, moving, lifting of clients and/or equipment up to 50 pounds.
