A California Bay Location medical professional has been punished after refuting coronavirus steps in Contra Costa County.
On Friday Dr. Michael deBoisblanc was removed from his position as medical director of trauma and regional services for John Muir Health after he reportedly challenged a recent stay-at-home order in a letter sent out to the county’s health director and board of managers.
In the letter, he and two other doctors, Peter Mazoleshi and Brian Hopkins, apparently expressed their issues about lockdowns, competing they result in greater rates of non-COVID morbidity. Newsweek has not yet individually confirmed the contents of the letter, which was reported on by regional TV station KTVU 2.
The doctors composed they have “deep concerns relating to more lockdown measures … the science is clear,” according to the station. “More lockdowns result in a lot more non-COVID morbidity and mortality … public policy is being based on erroneous presumptions.”
