JEFFERSON CITY, Mo.– Missouri Governor Mike Parson announced a new collaboration to expand the state’s hospital capacity.
Gov. Parson made the announcement Wednesday evening with Missouri Health center Association President and CEO Herb Kuhn.
The 12- week collaboration with healthcare services business Vizient will bring in extra staff and more expand the state’s healthcare facility capability.
” Since the start of COVID-19, we have continuously kept an eye on Missouri’s statewide health care system and focused on supporting our medical facilities and healthcare employees as much as possible,” Gov. Parson said. “Staffing continues to be one of the greatest challenges today, and we are presently doing everything we can at the state level to assist.”
Gov. Parson said other states like Arizona have dealt with Vizient through the pandemic.
According to a release from the guv’s workplace, Vizient will release approximately 760 extra team member through its contracted companies to several, geographically dispersed health centers throughout the state, consisting of registered nurses, respiratory therapists, and certified nurse assistants.
