This resonates with me so much, especially that second line. I work at a nursing home and I’ve had several people say, “well it’s the end of their life.” First, a lot of the nursing home population is younger than many people would think.
Working in this setting, yes we are prepared for natural, end of life processes. It’s sad, but it is indeed part of the job. We know how to cope with that.
Losing 30 people in 30 days was not natural. These people were fine until Covid hit and most of them would probably still be alive today if they hadn’t got Covid. I hate the age excuse so much.
