Dr. Fauci Announces Study Into "Perplexing" COVID Long Haulers

The U.S. is launching an examination into PASC, or ‘long COVID‘– a condition in which coronavirus signs persist after the infection has actually left the body.

In a White House press briefing on Wednesday, U.S. transmittable illness expert Dr. Anthony Fauci said the National Institute of Health (NIH) had been given $1.

Researchers are referring to long COVID as post-acute sequelae of SARS- CoV -2 infection ( PASC), where “ sequelae” refers to a condition that is the outcome of a previous disease or injury.

The symptoms of PASC include tiredness, shortness of breath, “brain fog,” sleep conditions, fevers, intestinal concerns and psychological symptoms such as stress and anxiety and depression in clients several months after their preliminary COVID infection

Fauci stated there are “a lot of crucial questions” about PASC that do not presently have responses.

The NIH study will aim to answer concerns such as what the underlying biological cause of long COVID is; how many people establish brand-new COVID signs they didn’t have as part of their initial infection; and whether COVID might “trigger changes in the body” that increase an individual’s threat of brain or heart conditions later on in life.
