Florida Sen. Rick Scott to GOP guvs and mayors: Do not accept “wasteful” federal funds

Following the passage of President Biden’s $1.9 trillion Covid relief expense, one Republican congressman finds himself with little option but to impotently ask his fellow Republican politicians to return billions in relief help to the federal government.
Sen. Rick Scott, R-Fla., who is set to meet with Donald Trump today at Mar-a-Lago, is beseeching states and cities across America to refuse federal help and put politics over policy. In a missive sent out to governors and mayors just after the bill was authorized on Wednesday, Scott tarred the piece of legislation as “enormous, inefficient and non-targeted.” He encouraged state and local leaders, by way of returning the help, to require that Congress “stopped recklessly investing other individuals’s cash.”
