Inequitable Access and Outcomes: The Case for Medicare Home Health

Although Medicare house health is a growing market that costs the federal government over $18 billion each year, little is understood about injustices in house health gain access to and results for minoritized and lower earnings clients. Dr. Fashaw-Walters will go over findings from her house health research study that shows injustices in access to top quality care and physical operating enhancement. In her newest Health Affairs paper, she analyzed access to premium house health companies by private and community qualities. She discovered that Black, Latinx, low-income house health clients, and clients in predominately Black, Latinx and low-income areas were less most likely to utilize premium house health companies. In this workshop, Dr. Fashaw-Walters will share findings from a task where she took a look at whether racial ethnic, and socioeconomic variations in house health client practical enhancement existed within or just in between house health firms. She will go over the policy ramifications and possible interventions to assist alleviate the observed variations.
