If you are a CNA, nursing assistant to patient helper, what should you be most concerned about if you are harmed on the job?
In my law practice, I frequently represent certified nursing assistants, breathing service technicians client aides and other patient care professionals. These jobs can be extremely physical as they typically include moving a client who has minimal body control or who might put up a battle.
My customers report back injuries, neck and shoulder injuries, arm strains and contusions, and knee injuries – perhaps you have had one of these injuries take place to you or to a co-worker.
As I talk about in this video, I frequently find that CNAs and other client caretakers frequently get push back from their companies when they report an on-the-job injury. This may be since injuries to patient care employees are common and employers do not wish to handle the hassle of discovering a replacement worker or going through the process of reporting a claim.
You can not and need to not allow your employer’s unwillingness to stop you from reporting your work injury. It is really possible that the twinge or dull pains in your back could be a severe disc injury, or the strain in your shoulder might be rotator cuff damage.
If you are hurt on your patient care job, you can be seen by a workers’ settlement doctor spent for by your company (and their insurance company). Do not accept any other answer.
And when you do check out the medical professional, make a list of every body part that is harming and report it. Insurance companies are well-known for attempting to deny claims for injuries to particular body parts using the validation that “the injured employee did not report that injury” when very first meeting the physician.
If you are unsure how to report your work injury or what to say to the medical professional, please call me. I do not charge for these calls and I ‘d enjoy to share my understanding with you. #CNAworkinjury #hurtatworkliftingpatient #workerscompensationforCNA
